12 Years of Dedication


Hong Kong Institute of Diabetes and Obesity (HKIDO) is an education and research institute established at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in March 2005. With a mission to prevent, control, and cure diabetes and its co-morbidities through innovative initiatives and professional education, HKIDO aspires to translate basic sciences and clinical research into the enhancement of human health and holistic capacity.


Since its inception, HKIDO has been providing the following six academic programmes at CUHK with quotable qualification of The Medical Council of Hong Kong and academic accreditation of various professional institutions:


The CUHK diabetes research and care team has been engaged in research on diabetes for over 20 years and has developed an affordable comprehensive assessment service for the community through its Yao Chung Kit Diabetes Assessment Centre benefiting over 15,000 people.
